Thanks to Monmouth Arts and their ArtHelps programs, we at NJ Rep were able to launch an exciting, new project today.
6 High School students whose lives have been affected by Hurricane Sandy will be
awarded an 8 week playwriting program. They'll get to work with a playwright/mentor to develop their scripts. Their work will then be presented by professional actors at a public performance at NJ Rep in Long Branch.

Many people have found that art has helped them heal from painful experiences. We hope this program will help students affected by Hurricane Sandy to transform some of their feelings of loss, pain, fear and other emotions into an opportunity to learn about playwriting and to explore dramatic expression.

I'm going to be coordinating the program and I'm psyched to see where it takes us as artists and as a community.
